Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day, Singles Awareness Day, or neither, I hope you have a great day nonetheless. Someone out there loves you, whether it be your family, friends, significant other, pets, or whomever.
You can get all the most inexpensive or expensive gifts, gadgets, and gizmos for the one you love, but what matters the most is the fact that you love them.
What still gets me every time are the first gifts Lester and I gave to one another 5 years ago:
He gave me a duct-taped shoebox with a stuffed puppy and a bag of cheese popcorn (unfortunately, I do not have the full-sized resolution of this, so this will suffice).
Due to lack of money, I ended up crafting a collage on a spare piece of canvas.
To this day, he still has the collage hanging in his room next to his computer desk. As for me, I ate the popcorn right away, of course. It’d be gross if I had 5-year old popcorn laying around! Plus, you can never go wrong with cheese popcorn. The stuffed puppy still lays on my bed with the rest of my stuffed animals as well.
For us, of course we loved the gifts and everything but, in the end, it was the thought that really counted.
Lastly, don’t let Valentine’s Day be the sole day to show your affection. After all, there are 364 other days you can claim to be special :)

it’s so heart warming to see a “happy” valentine’s day post and a loving couple. came across too many ronery valentine’s day in the otaku blogosphere lately. ^^;
sadly valentine’s day nowadays is too full of commercialism and materialism. sometimes a simple hand made gifts is all one needs to leaves a good impression.
gordon the droid hunter’s last blog post..Close Encounters of the Third Kind. A Space Explorer’s (Love?) Story
Aww, thank you Gordon :) No more roneries!
I hate it whenever I go to a store and all I see are tons of heart balloons, flower bouquets, and other Valentine’s things! I’m afraid to go to the mall today since people are frantically scurrying to get their significant other something really expensive. They’re probably irritable, too –;;; Why do people have to freak out over what to get their other person when they could just do it on another day? orz
Personally, I prefer handmade gifts, too. I think of materialistic gifts more as treats from time to time, and handmade gifts to be the jackpot :3

I always end being bored on Valentine’s Day. This one is no exception. Maybe I’m better off sleeping.
