…Geez, where do I even begin?!
San Diego Comic-Con International 2009 recap
29 JulPreview night + 4 days of Con = exhaustion and a lighter wallet. 4 day passes were $75 this year. They’re jumping up to $100 next year! How I wish I was still a kid and get in with a child’s 4 day pass. Crowds, toys, freebies, and a huge sensory overload: that’s what Con’s all about.
San Diego Comic-Con International 2009 Preview Night
23 Jul
Who’s ready for the late July madness that is Comic-Con?! I sure am! Went to Preview Night last night and had a total blast wandering around the floor looking at various vendors, shops, and the massive amount of freebies.

Going to see the Twilight panel today? Best of luck to you: people have been lining up since yesterday afternoon. Yes, yesterday afternoon! The panel’s not until this afternoon. By the time my friends and I got our badges, there were tents, futons, and lounge chairs laid out for Twilight fans. Madness, I say.
Don’t believe me? Check this out. This was around 3 PM yesterday. Madness! I wonder if it’ll be like this for other panels. I know it was like this for Heroes last year.
See you on the floor! Today, my sister, Lester, and I will be wearing matching “It’s Super Effective!” Penny Arcade t-shirts. The other days I’ll be running around with Lester in his armor. I’ll be constantly updating Flickr with pictures every night/early morning at my SDCC09 set. Also, for those from dannychoo.com, hopefully we’ll get a meetup in between Con madness!
Golden Sun
12 JulRight after finishing Chrono Trigger, I saw that I had two GBA games sitting on my desk next to my pile of DS games. Those games were Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. I’ve borrowed them from Lester for heaven knows how long! I finally gave Golden Sun another try after playing it and putting it down due to school a couple years back. I wanted to start where I left off, but I was extremely lost when I started the file. I ended up starting fresh about a week ago, determined to finish it. ~30 hours later, I’m thirsting for more. Really pretty graphics, especially for the GBA, a crazy in-depth plot, loads of puzzles, inspiring music, and a customizable statistical-enhancing system: love it.
Before I go on, any suggestions for intriguing RPGs for the GBA, DS, PS2, PS3, or Wii are welcome.
Anime Expo Day 2 recap
6 JulAnime Expo has come and gone and although we only went for one day, I had a lot of fun! It’s smaller than Comic-Con so walking around wasn’t that bad, and it was also my first time perusing through Artist Alley. Good times with good company, and finally meeting up with some online comrades! The amount of cosplay at this convention was amazing. I wish I could’ve taken pictures of everything, but to experience everything, you’d have to actually be there.
Anime Expo 2009 prep
3 Jul
Tomorrow will be my first trek to Anime Expo. I’ve always wanted to go, but every time it came around, I always had plans that conflicted with it. Even though I’m only going for just one day (tomorrow), I’m really excited! The only convention experience I’ve really had was CCI in San Diego and CES in Las Vegas. I’ll be figure and gunpla shopping as well as perusing the whole convention.
I’ll be cosplaying as Tieria Erde from Gundam 00, pink cardigan and all. And yes, I do own a pink cardigan. You’ll most likely see me with Lester in his Shadow Stormtrooper armor.
Here’s a list of things I’ll be checking out while I’m there:
- ParaPara Dancing 101 at 11 AM
- (possibly) Gundam: the 30 year anniversary at 1 PM
- Wandering around Artist Alley
- Looking for Capcom’s booth to try out Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
- Maybe checking out the AniMaid Cafe
For those who’ve already gone to AX in the past, is there anything you recommend? Also, good dinner eats around the area would be great.
See you there!
