#TheWeekender – La Jolla

Hey all! Time for #TheWeekender. Let’s go to the beaches of La Jolla for our first post!

In honor of summer, we’re making a new section called “The Weekender” which promotes going out because the city I live in (San Diego) is awesome.

Beaches are one of my favorite places.  When you think of San Diego beaches, La Jolla is a great place to go. With a wide beach area and plenty of grassy spots, it’s worth the trip for a fun day in the sun.

No surfboard? No problem! There’s a small area of stores in the La Jolla Shores area where you can rent everything from kayaks, surfboards and boogie boards. You can even get surf lessons too!

Besides the beach, there are many shops in Downtown La Jolla. There’s a Living Room Cafe if you want to relax. Check out Children’s Beach to see sea lions basking during the day and come out at night.

Keep in mind that since it is the summer, La Jolla Shores will be packed on the weekends. If you plan on getting a good parking spot or securing a bonfire pit for the evening, arrive early.

You can have a great day for the price of almost nothing! Plan a picnic, bring your friends and let the good times roll. What are you waiting for? Get out there!
