Let’s get jazzy with the album Chances by Jill Barber on #MusicMonday.
Album: Chances by Jill Barber (2008)
If you like: Norah Jones, She and Him, Rilo Kiley, Etta James
Jill Barber works her magic with Chances. Barber’s raspy vocals accompany the classically styled songs perfectly. It’s as if you’re listening to these songs for the first time through your antique radio.
Barber is a master story teller on this album. Love is a frequent theme on Chances. The songs Be My Man and the title track Chances tell of the possibility of love. You may have heard Never Quit Loving You before. It’s been used on a few commercials. It’s a classic ballad of love burning brightly through adversity.
Overall, Chances is a great album to listen to when you need to chill out. Also when you’re feeling a little nostalgic. Either way, it’s a win-win. Put this in your iPod and mellow out.
