Richie Branson – White Reflection

2 Mar

All of us here at Rhythmemotion love Gundam Wing. Whether it’s the infamous “Endless Waltz” to the more recent “Gundam Unicorn,” we are always all about mechs in space destroying stuff. Thanks to our resident artist / writer Mylene (@lenejenius), we have become fans of Youtube rapper Richie Branson. Check out his little rendition of the Two-Mix song, “White Reflection.” And for those of you who have no idea what we’re talking about, here’s the original: White Reflection

Frank Kozik x Nike SB Dunk High

29 Feb

Frank Kozik. If you don’t know who he is, let me just tell you the list of people that he’s worked with… ahem – Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Butthole Surfers to name a few. Aside from working with bands, to all of the younger, 2.0 generation he is best known for his graphic design work with toy company – Kidrobot. Here we get a sneak peek into a Nike SB Dunk collaboration with the amazing artist. The shoe features a tumbled leather and ballistic mesh lining the upper. The color hues (if you haven’t noticed already) are an army green with an orange liner and some custom branding along the heel.

Stay tuned for more pictures and news about this simply stunning Quickstrike!

Back To The Future Hoverboard March Pre-order

29 Feb

Yes this is totally happening. With the Nike Air Mag release 5 months ago, Mattel has heard the fan base and is now going to be producing a 1:1 Scale Replica of the Hoverboard in Back To The Future 2. While the toy does not actually hover, it is said to “Glide over most surfaces.” Keep an eye out on Mattycollector.com on March 1 -March 20.

“Finally! This totally awesome 1:1 replica of the hover board from the BTTF 2 and BTTF 3 films includes multiple whooshing sounds and will glide over most surfaces (does not actually “hover” – check back in 2015 for that feature). We’ll be taking orders for it March 1 – March 20, 2012, and the final product will be shipped around November/December 2012. Because this is such a high-cost item, there will be a minimum number of orders required to go into production. If we don’t receive the minimum orders, won’t go into production and customers will not be charged. The price will be announced later this month. (Note: Hover board does not work on water.)”

Mini Spiki DIY custom part 2 (Blanka?!)

9 Oct

Painting = dunzo!

I’m in a love/hate relationship with acrylics. Note to self: use primer first. I totally forgot about that, oops.

I didn’t want to paint on the anklets. Trying to think of an alternate way to show them… Maybe I’ll use some Sculpey? Yarn? I’ll think of something.

I’m going to finalize details and spray it with fixative tomorrow. ( ;´Д`)

I think this has motivated me to actually work on my blanks that I’ve bought. The process was a lot more fun than I thought.

Mini Spiki DIY custom part 1

P88

This is my first time actually customizing a blank vinyl. I have some blank vinyls but they’ve stayed blank so far with the exception of the large autographed Munny.

I will be transforming this mini Spiki (courtesy of Nakanari/maihiro.net) into a blue/orange Blanka from the Street Fighter series. I’m hoping this will be worth it in the end.
