I will not give away too much of the plot. The Mandarin character and movie vignettes are well fleshed out and very surprising, to say the least. The philosophy behind the character is a commentary on human nature’s natural response to evil. There is a great balance between action and story from start to finish. The final line of the movie struck a major chord with me. Iron Man 3 sets a great tone for the next Marvel hero movies en route to Avengers 2. And look out for really funny short, comedic bits thrown into the movie.

Overall, a great movie to watch and take the kids to see! Stay till the very end and look for the obligatory Stan Lee cameo (you know those Marvel movies). And as always, watch for a discount.

English roots: Beckham started on the Manchester United youth team under Sir Alex. His first Premier League appearance came in 1996 and he became a household name when he scored from his own half as a youngster. His trademark free kicks solidified his name in the world of football and  He went on to win six leaugue titles with United and the Premier League, FA cup and UEFA Champions League treble in 1999. The last time we’ll ever see him active in a United shirt was Gary Neville’s testimony, where he was reunited with much of the 1992 FA Youth Cup winning squad.

Club career: Beckham’s fall from Sir Alex’s favor led him to play for Real Madrid to play with Luis Figo, Raul, Ronaldo and Zidane on the first Galacticos team. He won  Spanish league cup and moved on to America to join the Los Angeles Galaxy. Playing alongside Landon Donovan, he helped lead the Galaxy to two successive MLS league championships in four MLS Finals appearances. While playing for the Galaxy, he had two successful loan spells at AC Milan playing in two recent Champion’s League campaigns. He moved on to Ligue 1′s Paris St. Germain for his final season and won another league cup.

Club and country: Beckham played the villain during the 1998 World Cup Final semi’s, where he was sent off on a proper tackle against Argentina. He became the most hated man in England constantly receiving death threats. He marched on and kept playing for the Three Lions. He went from zero to hero when he nailed that glorious free kick against Greece to secure England’s bid to the 2002 World Cup Finals. Beckham went on to captain England and earn 115 international appearances, the current record for outfield players. Overall, he played in three world cups (1998, 2002, 2006) for England and would’ve played in a fourth had it not been for that nasty Achilles’ tendon injury months before South Africa 2010

Why it matters? If you haven’t heard of David Beckham by now, you honestly need to get out more. Beckham’s influence transcends the world of football. He’s a pop culture and style icon, he’s married to a Spice Girl and is a hell of an underwear model (not as easy as it looks). He raised football to a high profile during his playing days and helped make it matter to American audiences. He’s on par with the likes of Michael Jordan to an international audience. He’ll continue to be influential and reach many audiences because of his amazing branding over the years. He embodies the fact that you can go out there and accomplish great things through hard work!

What most people will not notice is when the film becomes progressively serious. I will not give away the story but when sh-t hits the fan, it gets everywhere. Michael Bay does a great job of pacing the film to ease into the serious content.

Final verdict:
It’s a great watch if you’re in the mood for a film with many facets. Rebel Wilson definitely steals the show. If you want more of a comedy with less serious content, you may want to stay away and check out the review on the next film. As always, watch for a discount.

Scholes was never the fastest, tallest or strongest on the pitch but he had the most passion. A dwarfing 5’7″ in midfield put him at a great disadvantage. However, he always fought for position with his scrappy and persistent style of play. His power and accuracy made him dangerous in his preferred shooting spots just outside the box. This goal in the 2007/08 Champions League campaign against Barcelona is one of many examples:

Scholes is well respected by fans and pundits alike. He appeared 716 times for MUFC with 155 career goals. With an astounding 11 Premier League winners medals himself, he is going out with fellow United legend Sir Alex Ferguson on top. Thank you, Scholesy. You showed us that it’s the size of your heart that matters.

I know people usually wear suits to important events in their lives. I’m wearing my Nike Air Jordan 1s. The Air Jordan 1, for me, will symbolize daring to do something I’ve never done before. The NBA thought that banning the iconic shoe would slap Nike and Michael Jordan back into conformity.

Nike could’ve changed the shoe to avoid a $5,000 fine per game. But didn’t.
Michael Jordan could’ve stopped wearing the shoe. But didn’t.

Nike and Michael Jordan used the adversity to turn public adversity into the single greatest product campaign ever. The story proves you simply cannot stop something great. I haven’t accomplished what I want in life yet, but I feel closer. This pair of shoes serves as a reminder for myself that the future is not yet written… it’s the start of something larger.

Despite the various leaks (this one via the SoccerJerseyShirt blog), the kit design is not official. This short black collar of the leaked design looks like a modified black collar design of the 1995-1996 home kit. The design is simple, clean and is a great addition for any MUFC fan’s collection.

The official reveal is slated for June 06, 2013. Pre-orders for the 2013/14 official home kit here from United Direct (official online store of Manchester United).

Sir Alex Ferguson: Team Builder
I’m going to get a lot of  heat for saying that Alex Ferguson’s legacy is ridiculous . He’s closer to Red Auerbach. Sure, Phil Jackson had the ability to mold players on different teams but Red Auerbach stayed with the Celtics and built the team into a winner (in different decades). Sir Alex has done the same as Auerbach but it goes beyond that.

In football, there are more opportunities to compete with the best in the world to assert your dominance. Managers shape youngsters into winners through club youth programs. Red Auerbach ended his Celtics career helping the team to 16 trophies in 29 years. Sir Alex managed teams to 46 trophies in 20 years and Sir Alex could remain closely tied with United.

The bottom line:
The future at the club is bright with the current talent. Sir Alex might be taking an administrative role with the club despite stepping down as manager. Many pundits, critics and cynics will have all kinds of things to say. But you cannot take away what the man has done.  Thank you, Sir Alex. I hope we can keep the ball rolling.

It definitely has been quite some time since Anime Conji but the time spent with friends new and old, the cosplayers, the video gamers, the tweens, and the awkward adults was well worth it. This video gives a tour of this year’s dealers hall and a small glimpse of the artist alley. There was a lot of amazing product from all the vendors and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again at this year’s Anime Expo!
