The main things for Saturday’s agenda was to attend the Indecent Otaku Comedy Hour and the Los Angeles CGM Night at ESPN Zone. Lester, Venus, Yuuichi-kun, and I headed off to the show in hopes of getting something out of the show. Unfortunately, staying on the far left side of the stage gets you nothing :| Pfft.

Here’s Lester signing up for the cosplay contest. I totally thought Deadpool was going to win crowd/fan favorite, but looks like our Shadow Stormtrooper won it ^^;  He also scored a bunch of goodies, including a Cospa Mio tote bag! So jealous. At least he saved a lot of spending money, haha.

After coming back to Artist Alley for a little while, we all headed out to ESPN Zone for the Los Angeles CGM Night. ‘Twas nice meeting you briefly, Lightning Sabre!

By Sunday, my voice was starting to go downhill and I was getting massive headaches :( Boo for getting colds! We spent the last couple hours of AX scouting out for deals. To be honest, I actually didn’t spent as much as I thought I would this time around. No figure acquisitions! :x I regretted not picking up a Sakuya Nendo for $60 (in which the price was jacked up to $75 by the last day, wtf), but maybe that’s for the best. I did get an oppai mousepad for myself from Record of Agarest War, Disgaea 3, and Blazblue. About that oppai mousepad: I have to look out for my wrist, you know ;x Ergonomic safety!

Wrapping things up, thank you thank you THANK YOU to all those who visited E18 at Artist Alley! Also, thanks to those I hung out with over the turn of events. AX was definitely memorable this year and I hope events in the future will be just as memorable. Now to do something about their mean volunteer staff and security :<

I know this is a bit overdue, but I got busy after I got back from Los Angeles. To start off the recap, here’s one of many Mudkips Venus had been bombarded with ;)

Lester and I headed up to Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon and waited in the abominable line that was for pre-registration. Even the Comic-Con line went faster than it! Ugh. We got our passes after approximately 3 hours (or probably even more) wait time :\ Ah, well. At least Artist Alley registration went by quickly. We finished the night with a trip out to Hakata Ramen Shinsengumi in Gardena.

Thursday was Day 1 for Anime Expo. After fumbling with my PVC display set up (I didn’t think the tables would be THAT thick [cue "that's what she said"]), we finally got it up and running! Pictures to follow up for Day 2 since I want to do this in chronological order.

Thursday was spent mostly scoping out the hall and seeing what to buy :) I was more stoked for the festivities to come later on that night: the Yoshiki Foundation benefit concert! I’ve been a huge fan of X Japan since high school and was even more stoked that there was going to be an acoustic set! AND SUGIZO WAS GOING TO BE THERE. ASDFKLJAWEJKr.

Mmm, nurse.

After Day 1 was over, Lester, Venus, and I headed over to Club Nokia for the Yoshiki Foundation benefit concert. After waiting in line for about 2 hours (in which I got a lot of playtime of Pokemon HeartGold), we were finally let into Club Nokia! I wasn’t too fond of the fashion show and the wait time, but it was all worth it in the end.

I want an X Japan pachinko machine for myself :x

The only picture I took on my cell phone of Yoshiki, Toshi, and Sugizo :x I was too much in awe during the performance. That, and I forgot to bring my point and shoot :x

One of the best things about the concert was not just the acoustic performance of “I.V.”, but the music video shoot for their new song, “Born To Be Free!” Here’s someone’s footage of one of the takes:

I’ll be heading out to Los Angeles for Day 0 tomorrow afternoon. July hasn’t even begun and I can tell it’s already going to be a hectic month! Anime Expo this weekend, starting my new job after I get back from AX, and then SDCC a couple of weeks later. Yay, July!

Marisa, Reimu, and Sakuya from Touhou! I was going to do a Marisa, Reimu, and Sanae print, but I’m more partial to Sakuya than Sanae :x hahaha. I was also planning on doing a huge print of ALL the characters, but that would’ve been suicide given the time frame I had -_-;

Marisa’s based off of Imperishable Night, Reimu’s based off of Undefined Fantastic Object, and Sakuya’s based off of Scarlet Weather Rhapsody.

Prinny from Disgaea. I just started up a file on Disgaea on the DS. I’ve yet to play the PS ports :x So far, I’m enjoying it! And Prinnies are so freakin’ adorable.

All the Pokemon trainers from the Pokemon video games (well, except for Ranger and stuff). You can spot the following: Red, Leaf, Kris, Ethan, Lyra, May, Brendan, Dawn, Lucas, and the new Black and White trainers (that I have no clue what their names are).

All of these will be sold as 4″x6″ postcards. More art dumps coming up in the next couple of days.

Wednesday was my last day of classes of my college career. It’s strange: part of me is really excited to be ready and out of college, but another part of me is extremely anxious and nervous. I’ve been wavering over the two in the past couple of weeks, especially within the last three weeks finishing up my final projects of the semester. I honestly don’t know how to feel.

It’s strange hearing all of these “Congratulations!” and “Hooray! You’re graduating!” shpeals from everyone. I guess it hasn’t hit me yet since I have to prepare for 4 more finals, but I have a feeling once commencement hits, I’m going to start breaking down. Once I realize I have nothing to study and cram for, I’m going to go nuts.

My college career has been nothing but memorable. I’m thankful for all the relationships and connections I’ve made throughout it. I’m thankful for everyone I’ve met whether it be through student organizations, work, classes, or just through mutual friends, especially those I’ve gotten close with and those I don’t hang out as much with but still keep in contact with. I’m thankful for my family for sticking by me even when I suddenly decided to double major. Heck, I’m thankful for pretty much everything.

I shouldn’t speculate on what’ll happen to me, though. There’s no use in doing that. I’ll take on commencement head on and see what happens from there. In the meantime, I’ll go ahead and stock up on some alumni gear.
