Bullet point time!

- Got there at 930 AM BUT Evil Ryus sold out?!
- It’s okay though: got Ono-san’s autograph on my Munny! Hadouuuuken~
- Picked up MLP:FIM posters for Laura :3
- Randomly saw Gerard Way of MCR. wat.
- Tried to get into the MvC3 panel but got turned away ~20 people in front of us.
- Saw Linda/Vampy and met Nakanari at Kusovinyl! My Munny’s face is awesome now *_* I also bought myself a new iPhone case from Kusovinyl.
- Lots and lots of walking, gahh. Well worth it to go to the Sega arcade. Sonic Generations is dope and we also got really cool posters
- Attained Harada-san’s autograph. The Munny’s power level is very high now.

SDCC Day 1 is complete! Onward to the bullet list:

- Little to no line at Hall H, wat
- Pushing a stroller around makes people move out of the way
- Got to demo FFXIII-2! if you are playing Word To Your Moogle, I have a letter Y
- Ballroom 20 line was absolutely ridiculous so no Game of Thrones. Ended up going to the SFxT panel which turned out to be AWESOME
- Dhalsim! Steve! Yoshimitsu! POISON!!!
- Went to the EA/Bioware gaming lounge
spot to take a look at Mass Effect 3. Line was obscenely long also, our promised dog tags took way too long to process. We did get a lot of Popchips though :p
- Tried out Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3! Ghost Rider and Firebrand are crazyyy. Kinda miffed that every controller/stick I played with never had the same layout womp womp
- Got a picture with Ono-san )))
- Went to the Coco MoCA (Conan O’Brien Flaming C art exhibit) to check out Venus’ artwork. Lots of sparkling apple cider and snacks! And silly photos with laser beams!
- Hit up the food trucks and ate a butter-poached lobster grilled cheese sandwich and truffle fries. YUM.
- South Park Fan Experience = AWESOME. Free shirt from Foursquare, avatar creation, crazy art exhibit, and karaoke with “Let’s Fighting Love?!”
- Ended the day with a Con-themed cocktail from Odysea. Mmmm.

Lots of people! Tons of exclusives! Got to play SFxT! People already smell!

Lester and I scored passes to a Guild Wars Meet and Greet also, Lester had pictures taken with Ono-san and Harada-san near the Capcom booth. Lastly, I bought myself a Cookie Dream Babo from the Uglydoll booth

I’d write something more comprehensive but I’m half awake right now :p 4 more days of madness let’s goooo

Oh. And: GAME OF THRONES PANEL TOMORROW HNNNGH

…Geez, where do I even begin?!

I’ll start off with the PVC figures. All 4 of these figures totaled to a whopping $65! Yes, $65. The Sega Aphrodite ver. 2 Rei and Asuka were $20 altogether and the Kaiyodo Parfait was $10. $10! I was at Organic’s booth and they were running out of Parfaits really quick. I also snagged Kaiyodo SFA3 Cammy for $35, even though she retails at $80. One booth had her at $80, but I found a vendor that I frequent every year selling her for $35. Her regular color was $45…wth. Why couldn’t they be the same price?

The girls still in their boxes. They’re so pretty I can’t wait to display them!

Parfait’s absolutely adorable (and absolutely pink). As for Cammy, she sure has a butt I actually prefer Shadoloo Cammy over Delta Red Cammy. Anybody else have a preference?

Went to my usual gashapon vendor and got 5 little figures for $15. Here’s Athena Asamiya from King of Fighters and Anna from Tekken. Anna’s in some weird funky pose but Athena’s adorable as always.

Louise Halevy and Christina Sierra from Gundam 00 S1. Oh Christina. How I wish you stayed with the Ptolemaios for both seasons. I wish the place had all of the set; wanted to snag Sumeragi and Wang Liu Min too.

Tron Bonne of Megaman. She was a pain to set up and she keeps falling off her seat, but she’s still cute! Now all she needs is an army of Servbots.

I actually didn’t buy this; rather, Melvin bought this for me. Silver Surfer Mighty Mugg! My first Mighty Mugg, too. Thanks, Melvin! I have something to remember you by, haha. What a memento.

Some goodies from JBox‘s $25 grab bag: an old issue of Newtype featuring Gundam SEED, an Evangelion voice…thingy (they’re talking something about AT fields; not too sure what the actual quotes are, but it’s cool ), a Macross trading figure of Minmay which I haven’t displayed and assembled yet; it’ll go next to my other Minmay, a Star Trek toy thing that I haven’t opened yet, and a Super Mario magnet that I didn’t display here. Why? It’s already on the refridgerator, lol.

Lester and I now have matching Poketo wallets! The booth was selling them for $15. Please check them out: they have some amazing artist wallets, including Cupco (like the one I have) and Devilrobots. Also, I couldn’t help but get more Oryzaes Thank you Giant Robot for having Moyashimon merchandise.

It’s so tiny! I wanted a whole army for no reason. You know, just to have an army of Oryzae.

And now…freebies! Lots and lots and lots of freebies. I don’t even know where to begin with this! I got a lot of samplers and catalogs this year. Oh, and I managed to snag two 48-hour free XBOX Live Gold trials. If anyone wants them, let me know. I don’t have an XBOX, so it’s useless to me

Got these on Sunday: a full set of collectible cards from the upcoming Tim Burton movie 9. Anybody excited for this movie?

Even more freebies here. Some notable ones: a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom towel from demoing TvC, a Jedi shirt from Star Wars: The Old Republic for sticking my hand out for a shirt , and a Dissidia fan for signing up for Square Enix Members. There are some little trinkets here and there like some buttons, tattoos, and keychains. One keychain is a bottle opener from Inglorious Bastards that’s also a baseball bat

Here’s a gigantic Halo Legends poster promoting the new anime for the popular game. I’ve never played Halo, myself D: But I’ll give the anime a try! The fact that Production I.G. is doing it intrigues me.

Here are some posters from the Nickelodeon booth. Alex, I know you want the Avatar posters, so I snagged multiple posters lol.

Getting this poster was an adventure all in its own. Summit Entertainment was always packed! I’m actually going to give Twilight a try My sister lent me her copy, so I’m bound to read it. Oh man.

The Pokemon booth is still in full force! I never played the TCG, but I used to collect the cards! I kind of miss my Japanese TCG cards, though. I had a good number of Team Rocket cards, including an evil Charizard.

Posters for the Penguins of Madagascar and Sorority Row. “Theta Pi must die” is quite the catchy phrase.

A really cute fold-out poster from the Viz Media booth. It’s also educational!

Another fold-out poster from Viz Media, promoting anime Twilight, I mean, Vampire Knight. I’m kind of curious about this series, too. For those who’ve watched it, do you suggest it?

Some cards I picked up from Yamato USA promoting figures. Simca!

And lastly, a free Stykman statue from Symbiote Studios. On Preview Night, if you went by their booth and tweeted that Symbiote Studios rocks, you were handed out this free statue. Win!

I actually have a huge amount of posters, but I didn’t feel like taking them out. Some are still rolled up, too.

Preview night + 4 days of Con = exhaustion and a lighter wallet. 4 day passes were $75 this year. They’re jumping up to $100 next year! How I wish I was still a kid and get in with a child’s 4 day pass. Crowds, toys, freebies, and a huge sensory overload: that’s what Con’s all about.

Thursday was mostly panel-hopping and running around, enjoying what we couldn’t cover on the floor on Preview Night. People were already up and at it in costume, such as the Cylon we ran into right when we got into the Convention Center. Also got some good finds that day, such as snagging Organic’s SF Zero 3 Cammy in pink for $35 and a JBox grab bag for $25 (with goodies retailing for well over $25 in the bag). I caught a glimpse of the Yoko oppai mousepad, too! It was quite comfortable, too ;x

They displayed all the custom Mighty Muggs for The Empire Muggs Back to be auctioned off for the Make-A-Wish foundation. The customs were made by artists, toy designers, fans, and the like to create these one-of-a-kind vinyl toys. This one is George Lucas with a Han Solo shirt and an AT-AT pet!

This booth has been at Con for as long as I can remember; probably since I’ve started going to Con (and that was when I was still in elementary school). Need replica swords from Naruto, Kenshin, Devil May Cry, or just about anywhere? This vendor’ll most likely have it. I’ve always wanted a Sakabatou/reverse blade sword ever since watching Rurouni Kenshin. The thing is: I wouldn’t know what to do with it once I own it

Interested in joining the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, or The Dented Helmet? How about checking out other Cons from around the country or other costuming groups? The convention center’s mezzanine was a nice break from the bustling activity going on the floor. There were tables you can check out focusing on all kinds of interests. If you didn’t want to wait for overpriced food downstairs, you could check out overpriced food here too! My friends and I either packed food or ate at Horton Plaza. Much, much cheaper, except for the one time we ended up getting a cheese pizza. Mmm, delicious, greasy overpriced pizza.

There were also TCG rooms for Yu-Gi-Oh, Battle Spirits, Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Blue Dragon. Also in the same area is SD Tekken & Namco Bandai with a room solely dedicated to Tekken 6. I got a chance to play it since it was way too crowded to try it out at the actual Namco Bandai booth on the floor.

The amount of anime merchandise available for purchase has grown tremendously throughout the past couple of years! This shot was taken at one of my favorite vendors that specializes in gashapon/trading figures. You could either buy them on the table, or get some out of some tins for even cheaper. The selection may not be as massive as Anime Expo’s, but it’s still enough for me. The majority of the anime vendors, including Rising Sun Creations and J-Box/List, were in the quieter area of the convention center from 100 on up which made for a better shopping experience, considering once you get to the middle, all hell breaks loose. As for larger vendors, AAA Distribution was present as well as VIZ media and Kotobukiya. I was kind of bummed out that Tokyopop got reduced to a small booth this year, though.

Uglydolls have grown so much in popularity in the past couple of years. They had special limited-edition jackets featuring my favorite Uglydoll: Babo! My sisters and I all have Uglydolls of our own with me being the first to own one. I received a Babo as a high school graduation gift and, since then, I have nearly everything that is Babo-related. I also met David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim a couple of years ago, too. They’re such a sweet couple. If you don’t have one yet, then what are you waiting for?!

Square Enix always comes out to Con every year with their shop. They ran trailers for their upcoming games on their huge screen, including FFXIII, Dissidia and KH 358/2 Days. This year, if you signed up for their Square Enix Members club, you received a Final Fantasy Dissidia fan. They already had merchandise for FFXIII available! I wish they still had their Shinra card case. The XIII card case designs  are pretty, but the Shinra card case looked way cooler.

Friday was spent looking around the gaming portion of the convention. Capcom rolled deep as usual with tournaments for MvC2 and offering demos for Tatsunoko versus Capcom. TvC is very high up on my do-want list right now: played a demo of it and instantly fell in love! I also got a towel for demoing it, too. A lot of booths also had sections where you could take pictures and received copies on the spot or have them sent to your email. This was one of our pictures taken at Entertainment Earth with a Stormtrooper from the Joker Squad.

Later that day, Lester had to go suit up for a signing at DK Publishing with Daniel Wallace, author of the DC Comics Encyclopedia and Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide. At the same time, I also got to meet up with Hau and Justin for a little bit!

Gotham City Police was handing out flyers: a Wanted poster for a certain Joker and a Missing poster for a Dr. Harleen Quinzel. The question is: who is to replace Heath Ledger for the next movie?

We got to run into Shogun Vader again! We saw him at Anime Expo a couple of weeks ago and were glad to see him again

To think that on a normal day, this street would be empty. Everyone leaving Comic-Con on Friday to get home or to their hotel room, get some rest, and get up bright and early for another day of Con.

Saturday was the busiest day for Lester and I, since he was suited up all day for a full-on 12 hours. Got suited up at 7:30 AM, walked from the U.S. Grant to the convention center, and made it in time for the 501st Legion photoshoot. I’ll make another blog post specifically for the shoot, but in a nutshell: I’ve never seen so many Star Wars costumes in one area like this before. Also notice there are not one, but TWO Shadow Stormtroopers! D’awww.

Another TX unit and fellow Filipino, Daniel. Nice meeting you! And I hope to get to see you at other events, too. They’re so shiny when they stand next to each other.

Before meeting back up with Lester after the photoshoot, I went around the floor to do some mad freebie hunting. Wherever you go, you’re bound to run into freebies, whether they’re posters, keychains, buttons, bags, and the like. Booths will run out of freebies really quick, so you have to be really quick about snagging them and even endure long lines just to get them! I seldom bring bags with me to Con because I know I’ll get a bag there sooner or later.

After acquiring a crapload of freebies, I met back up with Lester at the Lucasfilms booth for a Star Wars photoshoot. People kept coming in hordes to take pictures! Luckily, I’m tiny enough to stay in the front and take pictures. Before the shoot, we saw a beautiful trailer promoting Lucasfilms and Bioware’s The Old Republic in HD goodness. I was also able to snag an Old Republic shirt, too! Yayyyyy.

One of the last things on our to-do list for Saturday was the Kotobukiya Chop Saber Duel. The R2-D2 Builders Club even brought over an R2 unit and, by coincidence, it happened to be green! The R2 was fully functional and made all kinds of noises.

Sunday was geared towards getting even more freebies and doing some mad shopping, as they usually slash their prices on the last day. It was also Kids Day, too! All the panels were geared towards kids and they all came out in the cutest costumes ever. I didn’t bring my camera out this time, but I think it was for the better. I was carrying bags everywhere and was literally wearing them everywhere.

As much as I’m going to miss the Con experience, I’m glad I finally get to relax and get some rest! Loot & Freebie post and the 501st Legion photoshoot are up next on my to-blog list, so stay tuned.

Who’s ready for the late July madness that is Comic-Con?! I sure am! Went to Preview Night last night and had a total blast wandering around the floor looking at various vendors, shops, and the massive amount of freebies.

Going to see the Twilight panel today? Best of luck to you: people have been lining up since yesterday afternoon. Yes, yesterday afternoon! The panel’s not until this afternoon. By the time my friends and I got our badges, there were tents, futons, and lounge chairs laid out for Twilight fans. Madness, I say.

Don’t believe me? Check this out. This was around 3 PM yesterday. Madness! I wonder if it’ll be like this for other panels. I know it was like this for Heroes last year.

See you on the floor! Today, my sister, Lester, and I will be wearing matching “It’s Super Effective!” Penny Arcade t-shirts. The other days I’ll be running around with Lester in his armor.
